Sarah has been teaching and training others to teach mindfulness for over twenty years. She trained with Mark Williams in MBCT and teachers at the Center for Mindfulness, Massachusetts, USA in MBSR in the1990s and early 2000s. A member of the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University core training team from 2001 until 2017, she now works independently to support mindfulness teaching development and implementation.
Sarah offers Mindful Movement Retreats and a two day enquiry training for more experienced teachers to refresh and build confidence, skills and understanding in enquiring of different populations.
She has been involved in developing Well-being/Mindfulness curricula for primary schools since 2010, Paws b for Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) and, more recently, independently developing a new curriculum with Dusana Dorjee and Tabitha Sawyer called The Present (for teachers and the children they work with aged 3-14). Sarah has a particular interest in supporting schools to bring mindfulness to daily life.
In the emerging field of mindfulness in the workplace Sarah has been exploring implementation factors over a number of years. She co-authored the .b Foundations curriculum for MiSP for adults in a schools context. In 2018 Sarah developed a new, adult version of The Present as an eight-week course to introduce mindfulness to busy people both in workplace settings and at home.
Eventslist.org is a platform for mindfulness events to be listed which requires some criteria for listing. This platform is being constantly developed to meet the needs of the field.
